Hotel, resort and restaurant projects across the Gulf are specifying more natural materials than ever. This guide explains how teak root furniture fits contract procurement — repeated pieces, mixed containers, documents and lead times.
Why Hotel Projects Buy Teak Root
Hotel, resort and restaurant projects across the Gulf are furnishing lobbies, restaurants, terraces and guest rooms with natural materials. Teak root offers something that mass-produced furniture cannot: every piece is cut from the root system of the teak tree, so the grain, colour and silhouette are unique.
For designers, that uniqueness is the point. For procurement teams, the requirement is different: consistency, durability, documentation and a supplier who can repeat a specification across dozens of pieces.
Contract Production: Repeated Pieces, One Standard
We produce both single statement pieces and repeated contract orders. For hotel projects this usually means dining tables and chairs for restaurants, stools and side tables for terraces, consoles and benches for lobbies, and planters or sculpture for public areas.
Orders can be mixed across products and sizes within one container, which lets a project fit a full FF&E list into a single shipment rather than paying for several part-loads.
Contract buyers can review our product catalogue and the wholesale terms for project quantities.
Product Range for Muscat and Salalah
Dining tables and table bases, coffee tables with glass or stone tops, consoles, stools, benches, planters and bar or bistro sets. Custom sizes and finishes are available for contract specifications.

Import Duty, VAT and Documents
Furniture entering GCC countries typically attracts customs duty of around 5 percent on the common external tariff, plus VAT which varies by country (for example 5 percent in Oman and the UAE and 15 percent in Saudi Arabia). Some markets require conformity or product certificates. We prepare the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin, and can arrange fumigation and phytosanitary documents when required. Confirm the exact requirements with your customs broker or freight forwarder.
Shipping to the Gulf
Orders ship by sea in containers from Semarang, Indonesia, arriving at ports such as Jebel Ali, Dammam, Hamad, Shuwaikh, Sohar and Salalah. Transit time is typically three to five weeks depending on the port.
Wholesale Partnership
CV. Nusantara Sourcing Agent manufactures and exports handcrafted teak root furniture from Jepara, Central Java, Indonesia. We work with importers, wholesalers, furniture retailers, interior designers and hospitality projects. Minimum order is one 20-foot container, mixed items and pieces are welcome, and prices are quoted FOB Semarang. Capacity is four 40-foot containers per month, and we have shipped over 300 containers since 2016.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you supply matching pieces for dozens of hotel rooms?
Yes. Repeated contract orders are routine for us: we fix one specification and keep heights, finishes and top sizes consistent across the batch while each root base stays individual.
Can a full FF&E list travel in a single container?
Mixed loads are our standard way of working. Dining tables, stools, consoles and planters can be combined in one 20-foot container so you clear once and avoid part-load freight.
Which documents do you prepare for hotel orders?
Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin, plus fumigation or phytosanitary certificates when the destination requires them.
Which Gulf ports do you ship to?
We load at Semarang and deliver to destinations including Jebel Ali, Dammam, Hamad, Shuwaikh, Sohar and Salalah, advising on the most practical schedule for your project.

Packing, loading and shipping

Where does the container actually leave from? Everything is loaded in Jepara, on the north coast of Central Java, roughly two hours by road from the port of Semarang. Cartons are staged, checked against the packing list, then driven to the quay and lifted onto the vessel. Semarang is the port we quote from, which is why FOB Semarang is the term most buyers work on.
