Teak Root Furniture Manufacturer for International Importers
If you import furniture for a living, you know the difference between a good container and a costly one. It comes down to the supplier behind it: whether the factory controls its own material, whether the packing survives a long sea voyage, and whether the documents are ready before the vessel sails. CV. Nusantara Sourcing Agent has been shipping teak root furniture out of Jepara, Indonesia since 2016, and we work directly with importers who need a predictable supply, not a one-off shipment.
Why source teak root furniture from Indonesia
Teak root is a by-product of Indonesian teak plantations. When the commercial trunk of a mature teak tree is harvested for construction and boat-building, the root mass is left behind. Carvers in Jepara collect those roots and turn them into tables, benches and decorative pieces. That is what makes this category different from conventional furniture: the raw material is not grown for furniture, it is recovered, so the organic shape of every piece is genuinely one of a kind.
For an importer, the practical advantages are straightforward.
- Factory-direct sourcing. We are the manufacturer and exporter, not a broker. You deal with the people who buy the root, dry it, shape it and load the container.
- Natural material. Teak root is dense, stands up to humidity and takes oil or lacquer finishing well — useful for markets that favour natural, handcrafted interiors.
- Wholesale production. We run regular production for container volumes, not single retail pieces.
- Mixed container options. First orders can combine several product types in one 20ft container, so you can test a range without committing to one SKU.
- OEM and custom work. Sizes, finishes and private-label branding are available on request.
- Export-oriented packing. Every piece is packed for sea freight in single-face carton, with the stacking plan built around container loading.
- Shipping support. We handle the paperwork up to FOB Semarang and coordinate with your forwarder or ours.

The buyer flow, step by step
Most first orders follow the same eight steps. Knowing them in advance removes the guesswork from your planning.
- Select products. Choose from the catalogue or send reference designs.
- Request a quote. Share your item list and target quantities.
- Confirm the order. We issue a proforma invoice and you place the 50% deposit.
- Production. Carving, assembly and finishing begin against the confirmed specification.
- Quality control. Each batch is checked for dimension, finish and stability before packing.
- Packing. Pieces are wrapped and packed in single-face carton ready for the container.
- Container loading. Goods are loaded and checked against the packing list.
- Shipping. The container moves to Semarang for loading on board, FOB Semarang.

MOQ and container planning
Our standard minimum order quantity is one 20ft container, mixed items. That gives a new importer enough variety to test the market without overcommitting to a single product. Larger buyers often move to 40ft containers once the range is proven. Production capacity runs at four 40ft containers per month.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Minimum order | 1 x 20ft container, mixed items |
| Trade term | FOB Semarang |
| Production capacity | 4 x 40ft containers per month |
| First-order lead time | 12 weeks (contact us for repeat orders) |
| Payment | 50% deposit, balance before shipment |
| Packing | Single-face carton, export stacking plan |
For a 20ft mixed container you might combine dining tables, coffee tables, console tables, side tables, stools and benches. Because each piece is a different size, we build a load plan that uses the container volume efficiently rather than leaving gaps. If you are unsure what fits, tell us your budget and target retail price and we will propose a mix.
Documents for a clean import
We prepare the standard export document set with every shipment. Requirements vary by destination country, so we confirm the list with you before production ends.
- Commercial invoice and packing list
- Bill of lading
- Certificate of origin
- Fumigation or heat-treatment certificate as required by your market
- Any additional certificate your customs authority asks for — available on request
If your country needs a specific declaration for wood products, tell us at the quoting stage so we can prepare it in time.
