Teak Root Console Tables and Side Tables — Wholesale Guide

Console tables and side tables are the quiet volume in a teak root order. They sit in the hallway, beside the bed, under the window in a hotel suite, and they are the pieces a retail buyer can reorder without redesigning a room. This guide covers the sizes we produce, what they cost FOB, how many fit in a container, and where importers usually get the specification wrong.

We manufacture teak root console tables and teak root side tables in Jepara, Indonesia, and ship them FOB Semarang in mixed 20-foot containers. Console tables run from USD 85 to 215 per piece at roughly 0.36 CBM each; side tables run from USD 28 to 78 at about 0.16 CBM. Minimum order is one 20-foot container with mixed models, capacity is 4 x 40'FCL per month, and a first order takes about 12 weeks.

Why console and side tables carry an order

A dining table is one decision. Consoles and side tables are what make a room feel finished, and in a hotel or a retail floor they are the pieces that get replaced, added and reordered. For an importer they also solve the arithmetic problem: at 0.16 CBM a side table fills a container cheaply, and at 0.36 CBM a console adds width without eating the whole load plan.

Three buyers, three jobs:

  • Hotel and resort projects need a console per suite plus side tables per room, in a finish that can be repeated on the next phase.
  • Retail and garden centres need one or two hero consoles and a spread of side tables at different price points.
  • Interior contractors need pieces that fit a measured wall, which is where custom length and depth matter more than the design.

Sizes and the price bands behind them

Our current list runs consoles from about 85 to 215 USD FOB and side tables from about 28 to 78 USD FOB. The spread is driven by three things: the amount of usable root, whether the top is glass or solid, and the size of the base. A console with a single-piece root base and a solid top sits at the top of the band; a compact side table with a slice top sits at the bottom.

Item Typical use CBM FOB USD
Teak root console tableHallway, hotel suite, media unit~0.3685 – 215
Teak root side tableBedside, sofa end, balcony~0.1628 – 78
Console with glass topLobby, showroom, retail display~0.40110 – 215

What fits in one container

A 20-foot container carries roughly 27.6 CBM of packed furniture. If the order were only consoles, that is about seventy-five pieces; if it were only side tables, closer to one hundred and seventy. Real orders sit between the two: a typical mix we load is 20 consoles, 80 side tables, 12 dining tables and 60 stools, which lands near 26 CBM with a little air for packing.

That is why we ask for the room list rather than a single SKU: the load plan decides the freight cost per piece, and freight is usually the difference between a margin and no margin.

Measurement, custom sizes and the mistakes to avoid

Because the base is a root, a console is not a flat-pack rectangle. Give us the target length, depth and height, plus the position of any wall socket or radiator, and we confirm what the root allows. The three mistakes we see most often:

  • Ordering to a plan, not to a wall. A 140 cm console does not fit a 138 cm alcove.
  • Forgetting the glass. Glass tops travel separately in cradles; if the order mixes glass and solid, say so early so the load plan accounts for it.
  • Assuming colour matching. Root pieces vary; if the client expects a matched pair, that has to be selected at the workshop and it costs more.

Finish, packing and documents

Finishes are hand-applied: light natural, honey, or a deeper brown, in matte or satin. Consoles and side tables travel in single-face cartons with corner protection; glass tops travel in separate cradles and are marked per piece. Packing timber is heat-treated to ISPM 15. Documents per shipment: commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, and a certificate of origin on request. We do not hold FSC or SVLK, so we do not describe our pieces as certified.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a console table and a side table?

A console is long and narrow, built for a hallway or behind a sofa; a side table is compact and sits beside a chair or bed. In our range the console averages about 0.36 CBM and the side table about 0.16 CBM.

Can I order a console in a custom length?

Yes, within what the root allows. Send the target dimensions and a photo of the wall; we confirm the feasible length, depth and height before quoting.

Do you supply glass tops?

Yes, tempered glass tops are available and travel in separate cradles. They change both the price band and the packing plan.

What is the minimum order?

One 20-foot container, mixed models allowed, with no minimum per model.

Want a console and side table plan for a project? Send the room list and the wall measurements; we will come back with what fits, the FOB Semarang price and the lead time.
