From Root to Base
Teak roots are collected after the timber harvest and brought to the workshop. Each root is cleaned of soil and stone, then assessed. Only sections with enough density and structural integrity become furniture; the rest is rejected. This selection step is where quality is decided.
Shaping and Drying
The root is cut to a workable form, then the base is levelled and shaped. Drying is the critical stage: if moisture content is too high, a piece can move after it reaches a heated European home. We dry and stabilise before finishing, and we inspect again after drying.

Packing, loading and shipping
Where does the container actually leave from? Everything is loaded in Jepara, on the north coast of Central Java, roughly two hours by road from the port of Semarang. Cartons are staged, checked against the packing list, then driven to the quay and lifted onto the vessel. Semarang is the port we quote from, which is why FOB Semarang is the term most buyers work on.
